Dear fellow raiders,

My friend has a boat moored around the edge of Mccarrs creek (South Western end of Pittwater) and we are keen fishos so we take it out around the area every now and then but all we end up doing is  because bites are too far in between. Got to a point where we don't feel motivated to even drop a line... :bump0ee:

Any suggestions as to where we should start in the area and fire us back up?

Any sort of advise is much appreaciated

Try drifting of Taylors or Stokes point.

At Taylors point we drift with pilchard, bonito and prawns for bream (sometimes up to 35cm), flatties, taylor and small snapper to 30cm. At Stokes point anchor and burly! use the same baits and even a livey if you can manage one. We get Bream, Flathead, Tailor, Snapper and leatherjackets. With a livey or some luck you may even find the odd salmon, jewie or King!

Good Luck

yep have to agree

Burley Burley Burley

even a tin of cat food with some holes in it [please dispose of can afterward though

but seriously there areplenty of fish hiding around scotty island

had some wonderful nites as a younger fella sitting on wharves in pittwater hooking stonker bream

just dont expect them in the rush hour times

get yaself some pillys and sqish em mix with stale bread crumbs/cheese grated/tuna oil/cat food/chikken pellets whatever add some water turn to a slurry

freeze into blocks the size of your burley bucket

get to a nice quiet spot

pop the burley bucket in

then have a few beers while it starts defrosting [watch where the trail is going then cast into it]

good luck

Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated.

One question tho, does western side of Scotty island fish well? how about somewhere like Elvina bay?

Will definitely burley up and hopefully I have something to post about in the near future :biggrin2:

One thing you need to know though is that it is very weedy here and you need to fish about 50 meters out at least inline with the pt and you should get a few flatties and other fish
