EASTERN SUBURBS ROCKS BLACKFISH

Hi Raiders

Went for a session with Royce on Saturday Morning to say it was cold was an understatement. We arrived at our chosen spot nearly tucked out of the westerly.Fished the spot till low tide which was 9.00am for only 1 fish.We then gave it away and went to another favourite spot and fished there till Midday and only picked up 2 more Blackfish and because there was not enough wash at this spot we were plagued by the cockies and when they moved in it was time to call it a day.

Then Royce says to me we will try one more spot before going home. This spot can only be fished in small seas and there was enough wash working the rocks so we felt confident coinciding with a late afternoon high tide.We started off slow forgot who got the first fish but they started to fire up.The fish were taking cabbage and the bite was fast and furious.Funnily enough all the fish were caught on ridiculously long drifts could not see the float clearly at times and we assumed that the fish were in the deeper water due to the clear water. At this time of year it is imperative to fish wash and concentrate fishing around the early morning and late afternoon sessions. All up we ended up with 18 fish only 14 in the photo as Royce had packed his fish away. There was some horses amongst them but we could still not beat Stewy's beast of a fish earlier this year in the harbour.oh well I will keep trying.

By the way the fish in the harbour have slowed down and you have to work hard for a good bag. Thanks Royce for the day out and your good company should be good for this weekend also.By the way how did you and George go on Sundays session.
