Mate very very rarely but some people do find some stray ones occasionally

i know a bloke who got one in port hacking a few years back

I think Coffs Harbour is the most southern point that you get them consistently.

But if you trawl the forums you will find info on Manly Lagoon. It once had Barramundi, Giant Herring and Mangrove Jacks. Doesn't anymore, but worth a read.

Thanks

looks like i may just hunt for another species in summer

Very rare down here! Chances are if you stumble across one, it will be on light bream gear and you'll get smoked. Drifting a live mullet in the snags will find if there's any.

Cheers, Tom

If anyone was to catch one it would be Craig. That guy gets into everything.

Wouldn't bother with Lane Cove. I fish that place nearly once a week and never come upon them. I would think of places like Mooney Mooney Creek. Even Wyong River.

Not sydney though

Yeh, LCR looks promising but i guess the further north the better the chance!
