fisherdad
We have recently purchased a Mariner 31 with an old Rambler LPG stove. It works OK for 30 years old but its no longer compliant and is in need of replacement. LPG works fine but being mindful of the issues inheritant to LPG we are looking at our options. Electric is not an option as we dont plan to install a generator. LPG we are aware of and there are plenty of options on the market. Has anyone had expeiences with Metho, I would welcome any reviews of how they cook and how easy they are to light verses safety issues. I am also interested in the differences between pressurised and non pressurised systems. Thank you
dunc333
hi david metho stoves work ok but i think slower than gas ,what we did on my mates boat was to get rid of gas bottle and all copper pipeing and we just have 1 of those companion butane cartridge stoves wich heats the kettle and frying pan and we have this stainless thing you put over the flames and it cooks 2 pieces of toast at a time,by memory i think 1 cartridge last heaps ,bout 90mins at full tilt cheers nothing like a warm cuppa and toast on a cold winters morning. fisherdad
If you have the battery power ie twin set up we have had great success with the 12 volt ovens from dick smith 15 amp for an hour to heat garlic bread, good winter evening treat. Thanks for your thoughts as the butane burners are great for a cuppa though we were looking a little bigger

I have a coleman on which runs on these half kilo butane cylinders, heats up quick and uses bugger all gas. use it then pck it away off the deck etc.
