mushtaka
I have been hitting pittwater lately on the kayak and have been getting some nice size squid. It is a good change, as in Summer/Autumn i didn't really get many at all!!! I landed this guy on a yamashita 2.5g squid jig in the natural colour range. He went really hard taking drag so i thought it might be an Occy. I didn't want to take the chance, so I slowly brought him in. When I got him in the yak I got ink all over me, but that doesn't matter. HE TASTED BEUTIFUL!! It is always hard to decide between eating the squid or using it as bait for a jewie, but i am glad i did!!!! Simple recipe: flour, salt, pepper and lemon juice. Deep fried for 20 seconds. Mushtaka I hear your conundrum Mate. Love it when the big Green Eyes turn up. For me, at that size, head and flaps = Jew bait whilst the body = dinner. That way you can have your squid and eat it too. Rich Edited July 15, 2011 by Mr Squidy
HH86
Solid catch, salt and pepper squid with some finely cut chillies through the mix is also good. In some people's case abit of ring burner material
