kadavu
Live squid of fairly fresh squid from a seafood market or tackle store works best. Don't buy brands of squid from overseas. Lives also work well
SZ1
Yellow live, butterflied and fillets also works if squid is hard to come by
evilborris
We usually go to the wharf west of the bridge for a few yellowtail and ocassionally a squid or two. If all else fails try banana prawns in the bigger sizes .At least if you get no fish and still have bait you can eat 'em.

Pongrass18ft
can anyone tell me what bait is best uesd for jew fish, or any fish under gladesville bridge. cheers scoggs Email me Scoggs gladesville is a great area to fish for jews. Live bait is always best followed by ultra fresh baits as second choice. The choice baits i recommend live squid or ultra fresh hawkesbury squid bought , Live tailor otherwise whole fresh fillet leaving head with fillet , You do the same with slimey mackeral , You can try a cocktail bait consisting of peeled prawn put on the hook and a squid head and guts combined. Most times the bigger fish will go the live baits as they're an ambush predator , hope you get into them mate. chris.
