Went out the back of bellambi bommie chasing the elusive red on sp

Ended up with 5 nothing big all about 37 but still a nice way to spend a day all released except 1 the wife wanted fresh fish for dinner. also had some fun with a school of salmon that went past great fun on light gear

There is plenty of cuttlys floating around out there aswell but no reddies around them only seals i reckon there was about 6 of the buggers out there

mik..

hey guys,

just a quick question how far out from shore do u guys go and also what depths do you guys fish. im thinking of heading out tommorrow around 5 islands but dont know if there is any action. Any tips and info on rigs and what baits and plastics to use would be great. Atm the only bait ive got is fresh squid heads that have been frozen.

thanks in advance

Mate i fish in depths from 3mtr to 25mtr when using sps , i mainly use gulp 4inch minnows and 5 inch gulp jerkshads in varity of colours but my favourite is pumkinseed

when bottom bashing i use paternoser rig and dont tend to go out more then 2 miles squid head are good for snapper also i like to use royal red prawns but any bait when bottom bashing will catch a fladdie

cheers mik

one my favourite fishing spots, awesome in summer, didnt do too well two months ago but each day is different.

I find plenty of squid close in to the Islands, close to the furthest point anchor, burly and drop pillies with no weight and have another rod fishing of the bottom
