Can anyone tell me where the best area in botany bay is for a first timer there ???? have a small Eagle fishfinder on board but no GPS will just be out for fun but would love to catch something decent to show off to the midgets. THANKS

where ever you go, burley up and I can say with confidence that the trevally will be around a short while after, although be sure to check their size, a good 70% have been just undersize.

Thanks i actually got out there yesterday had a drop around the 3rd runway for about 2hrs caught a donut, then moved to the famous Molly point and it was just like people said nice and calm with little to no swell and no fish. Ah well at least i got there and will go again even if i don't get anything, anyway left about 1pm as was starting to get choppy but all in all was still a nice day.

Mate anywhere over the weed beds near the oil wharf in around 3-4mtrs on gulp 4"watermelon worm soft plastics will produce trevally and bream ,even got a 67cm Kingy one day what a fight on 6lb braid that was you just need a little breeze and thats about it , i haven't had bait or burley in my boat for 18mths now and get fish on every outing in Botany.Good luck :1fishing1:

Hey champ, you can fish molinex point as well, but with Botany bay where ever you fish fish light, say 4 to 6 pounds and the tiniest of sinkers otherwise your wasting your time. Use heavier gear when fishing for king fish or Jewies etc, always live bait I found, Just follow the boats around you cant go wrong

As previously stated above - my favourite spots are the oil wharf, hot water outlet and the oyster leases north of captian cook bridge often produce some decent bream.

In the hacking i normally try the channel opposite mainbar, moorings at Gymea Bay and jibbon bombie.

Hope that helps!

Good luck

Exactly, beats sitting in traffic or at being work!!

Catching a fish is a bonus!
