REEF MAGIC CHARTERS Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 (edited) Had another good day out today getting 5 albies & 1 mako. Managed to pull the hooks on a good fish on the jig & bust another off when two lines crossed. Saw a free jumping marlin in 150 fathoms & highlight of the day was another mako chasing a hooked albie & the albie jumped 6 foot in the air with the jig attached only to have the mako follow him. He managed to get away but found the end of the gaff a short time after. Anyway we had a great bunch of guys onboard again today who enjoyed themselves. Back out again tomorrow. TunaSickle Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 hahaha that would have been good to watch a jumping Albie and Mako!
hotbite Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) Well done Mike & crew...Good to see you turning some reels. Can confirm your Marlin sighting,as we actually tagged a nice Stripe Marlin around 100kg on the Saturday, fishing on the SGFC boat Seaduece. We did'nt fish the comp either so we stayed up north away from all the boats shark fishing. We found a nice "puddle" of 21 degree water in 100 fathoms due east of Barrenjoey. The fish took a bibless minnow in a blue mackeral colour. Was very lucky we managed to stay connected to the fish,as I'm sure you know they tend to shake those minnow type lures off pretty quickly. Might have to put some of your favorite Marlin lures out as you travel between spots!!!! Edited August 2, 2011 by hotbite
