mark10187 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 (edited) Went down the humps for a run this arvo with my brother picked up 4 reds biggest fish of the day was mine a 57cm 3.5kg on a sp 110mm squidgy flick bait in Evil minnow colour went through a few sp's kept on catching barracouta and they destroyed the sp's caught 8 barracouta and had a bust off on 20lb flourocarbon after a few tops runs Bustoff Ps anyone know if barracouta are edible? We threw them back because we were unsure I dont know about the barracouta in oz but in fiji, the flesh of the barracouta gets so sweet that it actually starts growing worms in the meat i dont no how the hell this happends but it does. It only happens at a certain time of year aswell. james7 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Nice fish Bustoff! I'm not interested in eating those 'coutas. I've seen a couple in the past that were full of worms. Kinda put me off them. However, are they any good for bait?
