ALI-G Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Hi People, went down to La Perouse on the weekend for a run and a bit of a fish at Browns Rock. I hadn't been down there for a while and was amazed at what i found. it looks like a rubbish tip down there, plastic bags, fishing line, newspaper, broken glass, cans everywhere? It' looks like there isn't a bin down there any more but there isn't any excuse for this disgusting behaviour in what is a beautiful & protected national park. If fishermen continue to behave like this we will lose great land based spots like this for good. Does anyone know who I need to report it to other than the National Parks people? Cheers
piratesgold Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 (edited) I wouldn't call the mongrels that crap the place up Fishos, they ain't worthy of that title. if you report it, it will go against fisho's, If it was up to me, i would organise a few fisho mates and have a clean up and fish day, i have cleaned up spots on the local rivers, we have had nice areas closed to the public out here (central west) beacuse of litter hoons ......pirate Edited August 1, 2011 by piratesgold
Noodles Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 It never ceases to amaze me that people who enjoy the outdoor lifestyle this country has to offer treat it like a third world rubbish tip. Go to any popular and easily accessible fishing spot and you will find the detritus of mindless morons. Not only do I litter my own boat, not the water, but I pick up plastic bags and other junk and put it in my bin at home or the ramp. If they can carry it in full, surely the can carry it out empty. There are many words to describe these brain dead invaders but we needn't go there.

Cheers I was going to post about this exact same topic and funnily enough this same fishing spot. i visited it for the first time a couple of weeks back and was pretty put off by the amount of garbage there. Someone had even left a broken esky. Its poor form.
Day's Fishin Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Unfortunately mate if you start jumping up and down to people like parks and wildlife they will use it to close the areas down. When we come in one of the first things is unload the rubbish from the day and put it in the bins supplied. If there isn't any then we take it home and put it in our own bin. Try watching boats being pulled out at ramps and see how many don't unload rubbish, what did they do with it?????? Regards Jeff
manhands Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 It is disgraceful how some can litter such beautiful spots. When you see people leaving rubbish, give them a gobful. Shame the tools into taking their shit away with them. Always pick up rubbish on your way out if it's yours or not, just do your bit is all you can do. Everytime I go to the beach I end up with rubbish I carry out, despite the fact there is ample bins at car park next to dunes people just don't seem to care. Everytime the boat goes out I seem to be gaffing a few bags in the water miles from anywhere. Annoys me as it is so obviously fishing rubbish gives everyone a bad name due to poor actions of a few. Often rock hopping the rubbish left seems more a cultural thing, don't mean to be rascist but IMO the majority of rubbish left is by people of a certain extraction.
