rikkigilbey Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 does anyone know what species this fish is and could i have eaten it? thanks.
0 Catchin Jack Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 That is a Sergeant Baker. You can eat them, not bad eating, just lots of little bones.
0 CaineM Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 They're great for making fish based soup Anyone got a good recipe?
0 Rafinx Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Not really a recipe, but what my mum did when I caught my first one was incorperate it into my dad's spagetti with tomato sauce. p.s. when I say tomato sauce I mean one that gets cooked from 8am to 12 pm. not store sauce's.
0 Noodles Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 The Sgt Baker makes good snapper bait. Skin very tough and stays on the hook well. I've tried eating a big one and the bones are like an eel. Nice flesh but a pain in the bum to eat.
