Catchin Jack Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Hi guys, Went out today on the boat after getting some work done to it and now runs heaps better. Well I took a friend with me and of course a couple of rods "just in case". So after a 30min run it was time to have a fish, my friend had never used plastics or hard bodies so I rigged up both rods with one of each and spent the next few hours teaching him how to use them and differences with them and what to use for certain species. After a little while the fish started responding and were hitting our lures, it was hard work as they were not on the bite at all. I landed a few bream, a flathead and a stinky salmon, my mate did ok and landed a couple of bream and two salmon. Was good to see him get the bug and convert him, we'll see how long it lasts when he starts spending $$$$ buying all the lures around haha. The water was 15 degrees and still quite dirty, we went from southern end of lake up to Swansea and in to Dora Creek. Lake is littered with salmon, they're still not schooling. So boat runs well, another friend taught to use lures and will enjoy him whinging about how much money he's blowing on them PS - Had new steering cable put in and a new prop, went from 5600rpm to 5200rpm and have gained a few extra knots out of her.
Catchin Jack Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 And forgot to mention how sweet the Pflueger Patriarch XTR 1-3kg rod matched with Pflueger Patriarch XT reel is, it's a match made in heaven. I'm so impressed with both rod and reel, I WANT MORE
