Geoff Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) Hi again Raiders!! Should i connect my LED navigation lights in series or parallel?? Also, what size fuses should I use behind the switch panel if im only using LED nav lights, LED flood light and LED anchor light. Series or parallel normally applies to setting up batteries. 2 X 12V batteries in series = 24V. When connected in parallel they remain 12V For lights , the negative wire connects to the negative terminal block & the positive to the switch. As for the fuses , the Nav & anchor light , 2 or 3amp , the flood light depends on how much power it is drawing but 5amp should be OK Geoff Edited August 13, 2011 by Geoff
rockfisherman Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 Hi Fishingphase.. Your Nav lights should definitely be connected in parallel..Not Series. As for fuse size..you should use a fuse suitable to the current rating of each device. Slightly larger than what the device is using.Don't forget if you have a couple of things connected on each circuit you have to add up the current rating. I have the nav lights on 1 switch, a 9w LED floody on another switch, anchor light on another, and bilge pump on another.
