Hi Raiders,

I went for my usual flathead drift today off Palm Beach but thought I would put a live yakka out for a change while I drifted with strip baits. After not too long the livie rod bent over and stayed over  . I picked the rod up and it bent double and the 30lb braid peeled off and kept going - slowly but surely I made some ground back and after about 15mins I brought a grey colored ray with no tail and a wingspan of around 1.4m- we couldn't get it into the boat so couldn't take any pics-any ideas what sort of ray it could have been?

More yakkas went out and we caught banjo rays and a load of pj sharks topped off by this lump which is my new pb (I have never seen one this big).

I was just about to put her back when she bit into the leather padding over my engine bay and I had to encourage her to let go with my pliers, I now have teeth marks as a souvenir! What started off as a wet day ended with a beautiful evening and some great fishing - can't wait to get out their again.

Dave
