stevie g
Hi everyone. Quick question. Having spent most of the winter building up brownie points for the summer, would you consider drummer, groper, squid 'winter species' or at least worthwhile targeting in winter? Not a fan of salmon [eating them anyway!] and blackies are a whole other world [besides the odd bycatch].

You can also still target snapper, flathead, leatherjacket trevally and bream. There are drummer about, float baiting with bread seems to work well for them. rikkigilbey
blackfish are a must for winter! there so cheap an easy to set up for, and the fish are relatively easy to catch, just give it a go and you'll learn heaps so quickly and then you have a species you can always rely on when others fail.
