A few more Berowra reports

G'day Raiders,

Been out on Berowra for the last 2 out of three days (only coming home to work) :biggrin2: and have had a couple of good sessions catching flatties.

On Friday I went out with my grandad again as he couldn't wait to get out there after his last session and he ended up landing his PB flattie of a very respectable 62cm, it gave him a thrilling fight and he was stoked when he landed it. We also managed a couple more after that and came home with probaly one of our smallest bags of flatties in a while, not to say it wasn't a good day though, when we wern't catching flatties we could stay amused with the tailor and small bream while waiting for the flattie baits to go off.

It rained heaps that day but by the end of the day we were still perfectly dry due to the driezabone and our makeshift canopy made out of a tarp and ropes, it actually covered the whole front casting deck lol and kept us out of the wind aswell. Heres a few picks from Friday.

A few hours Work

And now Sunday. Went out with my dad on Berowra today and started out with perfect weather in the morning and seen some very low clouds at the ramp but then the wind picked up for a few hours and died off again in the arvo. We found today the majority of the fish caught were a couple of hours after the high tide and we ended up with a good bag of 7 Flatties and a bream at the end of the day, the flatties ranged from just over legal to 53cm today and a very fat stubby bream, the bream had an eel and three chunks of our berley in its gut but most of the flatties had empty stomachs. Over the two trips baits that have worked well have been Bonito and Tailor strips, peeled prawns for the bream and pilly heads for the flatties. I have also found that lately once you berley the undersized bream will swarm in first and after about 10-15 minutes the flatties will come on.

So we have managed to keep the family happy with fresh flathead fillets for the last few nights and here are some photos of todays trip.
