Hi all.

I used to fish the Hawkesbury up river from the bridge at North Richmond when a 13-15yo kid. Caught loads of Bass and returned all bar the select few. Dredging started and the fishing declined...oldies moved and there went my fun!

It has been decades and I and am now within a stones throw of my old haunt. I would love to know if anyone still fishes this stretch and especially the area between greencap(I think it is/was called that) and North Richmond. Used to canoe the area and toss lures about. Great fun and very rewarding...now have a little 9ftx4ft flat bottom dinghy and am looking for quite waters to fish either in it or land based with lures and bass my main target...any advice and help after all these years is most welcomed. I have launched the dinghy in the Woronora with my bro in law for sme flathead but it is a bit far to travel if I can find some closer action.

There is a boat ramp at Windsor (off george st) Would be a bit of a trek up the river to North Richmond. I launch my canoe from the back of the skate park near the North Richmond bridge. Bit of a hike down from the car park though.

Plenty of bass around the bridge and down stream toward Windsor in summer. Don't know how it fishes in winter or up stream of the bridge as I have never tried. Fishing off the bank can be restrictive due to the massive amount of weed in the area.

Wouldn't eat anything from there due to the "runoff" from the many turf farms that line the banks.
