I have caught the deep water bug big time and need to upgrade my sounder to suit fishing the shelf for those tasty deep water suckers! I dont have a big budget, so have noticed the new Lowrance HDS 5X. The bloke at BCF said he uses a similar model and works well in 200-400mt water, Does any one else have any experiance with the HDS 5X with deep water??
