Guest SnaggedAgain
Hello Raiders, Going for some carp fishing but my tackle supply is very low. Only floats I can get locally [not in Oz] are Waggler floats and I have never used them before. I need to know a rig where the float runs freely on the line so the depth of the hook is adjustable. One again, I am absolutely clueless with Waggler float and what I am trying to achieve is getting the bait to mid depth [middle of the surface and the bottom]. Any gurus out there? Pics are most welcome. Cheers. [6'6" spin outfit with 4kg line. Got some split shots, bean sinkers and some beads in my tackle box.]
Robofish
Hi SnaggedAgain, fishing wagglers is dead easy I used to do it a lot in the UK. I was going to draw you a pic but found you one that is loads better than I could draw! You put bigger shot around the float which locks it to the depth that you want and when you want to adjust the depth you just open the shot and move them. You generally put smaller shot below the float or sometimes not at all if you want the bait to sink slowly (bread etc) Where are you heading? I was going to try Lane Cove last year but got pre-occupied with kings etc and never got round to it - maybe this year Hope this helps Dave
Guest SnaggedAgain
Hey Robofish, thanks heaps for the reply. The pic looks simple enough. Last july(2011) had some kingy surprise in Syd harbour but I missed out. Good luck at Lane Cove. I am heading to a local water hole - a tiny artificial lake or just a big pond. No decent fishing spot nearby. Still searching. Thanks again.
