rikkigilbey
Haha i went there last week and it was exactly what all the raiders warned me bout on here lol just naked old men standing hands on hips, pointing their shriveled wands right at ya an saying..."any luck?" and thankfully my answer was fairly short, simply "not yet" lol although i did land a nice salmon around 50cm which unhooked itself on the rocks and also freed itself before a snap could be taken and a flounder, just as i was leaving a haud of asian guys headed down to my spot equipped with their night fishing gear, aiming for some tailor, so they said, but i reckon they had more chance of scoring with one of the old codgers! TRIER
Nah, you got the wrong beach Gilbey, the old fellas hang out at Lady Bay Beach about half a kilometer around to the right of Camp Cove towards South Head. Camp Cove is a great spot for big whiting in summer and autumm, if you can get past all the swimmers. Ross

Keflapod
You'd be ok as long as you didn't introduce yourself to them. "Hi, my name is Groper". You'd never get out of there alive! Mate if the guys are standing there with "hands-on-hips", that's enough for your gay-dar to identify them as a navigational hazard. The fact that they left their daks at home should have made you KEEP WALKING ! No fish is worth your life ! Tony PS, perhaps Basil can change his name from Groper to Gropehim...THEN the only float he would use is the one in the Mardi Gras parade..... cheap charlie
It's starting to sound like there will not be a raiders social down there any time soon.... On a serious note, as long as the nudist are not doing any one harm, then let them continue on with there little party down there. I can appreciate that some members of the public would be offended by what goes on down there. I guess at the end of a day everyone has a choice whether they go down there or not. Live and let live....

GCC
You should have asked them if they'd caught anything. (if they were honest they probably respond by saying they're trying right now...)
Boban
I went there as a young teenager in the 80s with my friend and his dad. At night it was mayhem with all the rods and floats strewn along the rocks. But there was a reason for that. They caught tailor after tailor for a few hours. I am talking about hundreds of fish. I have experienced the same thing on Umina Beach with the tailor. When they go nuts its a truly memorable experience. The last tailor school I got onto was off at the Port Stephens heads. We were trolling poppers past them and watched them fight each other for the lure. Double hookups on the same lure was common.
