clemsy
Hi raiders, I recently bought a JW Zenith IV combo hoping to use the rod for SPs, it has a weight rating of 2-4kg but I was wandering if I could use it for SPs because of its lightness? I didn't want to purchase a graphite rod as I am just starting SPs and didn't want to ruin a graphite rod by banging it around. I was hoping to get some fun out it but was wandering would it break before I get any fun out of it? (say I got hit by a 2kg fish?) Thanks! I hope my question makes sense! autocad
fibreglass rods are generally too soft to use for sp's. When you work an sp it needs to have the action imparted to it by the rod. That is why a fast graphite rod along with braid is the best option for working sp's. However, I have caught flathead with a fibreglass rod and mono with a squidgy wriggler, as the wriggler doesn't need much action put on it as much as other sp's. cheers Autocad
