hed Posted August 30, 2011 Share Posted August 30, 2011 Can anyone tell me what would cause my motor to overcharge when i open up the motor to get to plane, was watching my sounder and the battery went from 12.6 up to 15.5 when i throttled up ???????? don't know why will be putting in for a service but thought i'd ask on here for any info Ta Andrew. Can you provide some more info on motor eg. brand, year and hp? How long did the charge rate stay high? How old is your battery? A couple of basic things to check are: the state of charge of the battery (was it low or fully charged before going for a run?) Also check connections on the battery and inside of the battery terminals. Some Yamaha engines are known to do this. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
