hobbitt
Drove out to Lemon Tree Passage and checked out the boat ramp (nice) and I am wondering what the fishing would be like up the river, I would be using bait and sp's, very keen to hit the water in a 3.95mtr tinnie 25hp. Any feed back for this area would be much appreciated, thanks raiders. Rod Oh, and happy fathers day to all the dads.
jdudfield
pump yourself some nippers off the sandbanks at low tide and then drift for whiting and flathead as the tide comes in. plenty of bream around the oyster leases plus rays, supposed to be mulloway but I have never caught one in the area ... and of course look out for the resident 'shark' that the locals talk about

Light Gear
Hey Hobbitt, fished up there for years!! Go to the boat ramp at salt ash next to the tennis courts just befor high tide. A little to the right you will see a oyster lease only about 100m out. Tie off on the left hand side of this which is a big pole, as the ride runs out throw some plastics up stream where the water is running at its fastest and in the channel, let them hit the bottom with very small lifts as the water will run fast down this channel! Flaties and big ones sit right in there with their noses facing the current! You will have a ball!! Before the tide runs you can also cast some plastics on the mud flates and will gets some good ones just on the edge o the mangroves about another 100m upstream on both sides. I have been fishing plastics for several years and up there with one of my favorit spots. One last final tip don't let the tide run out too much or you will be stuck out there for untill the tide rises again as the boat ramp ends up being a mud flat and you you will sink past you hips if you try and walk on it!!
