jordan.widz
G'day raiders, So I've been out on the river a few more time lately and the lure action is starting to hot up. On Sunday I took one of my good mates out to see if I could get him onto his first flathead and the mission was a success. We went out in the morning and fished the high tide for 4 nice lizards ranging from 43-51cm all the fish were taken on pilchards this day and my mate caught Every. Single. One... and boy did he let me know it too. I was happy to see him get them all anyway, I've caught enough lately. After we got a feed of fish we went to the beach and cooked up some sausage sandwiches, went for a swim, and chilled out for a bit then went home. It was a great day out, got my mate onto some of his first flatties and the weather was perfect aswell, couln't ask for much else. Today... Thought I needed to dedicate some time to improving my skills with lures so I went out today, solo, and explored some parts of berowra I have never fished before, It wasn't long before I came across this part of fishy looking terrain, Possible Popper heaven??? I think so, but I'm gonna have to wait till the water warms up a bit and the fish start feeding on the surface again. I had 30cm+ bream shoot out from the weed beds and follow my popper to the boat then shy away at the last minute, some were very close to hooking up but unfortunatly none struck. After reading of the same thing happening to Mako in Woolaware bay I decided to do what he did and switch over to hardbodies, and it worked, none were of any great size and the biggest was only just over legal but they kept me amused and the water was so clear I actually seen one hit the lure, got a heap of tailor that destroyed my lures and all the fish were released. Bream Photography lol Heading out again tomorrow to chase some more flatties with a couple more friends and again on the weekend for another fishing/camping trip... cant wait! denzor
Hi Mate, Great report!! I havn't touched bait in a long time, the amount of fun I have been having flicking SP's and HB's on light gear for Bream, Flaties and whitings. Iv had some cracker days and landed a few PB's along the way with this method of fishing. I mainly fish botany, might be out your way soon and steel a few fish from ya!!
