Kelza Posted September 8, 2011 Share Posted September 8, 2011 hey guys just put a new daiwa saltist 6500H and a monster mesh rod on lay buy . im looking at chasing jewies and kingies out of the boat.. im looking to spool it with 50lb braid ..just wondering if it might be abit of overkill for jewies and kingys or if it is a good choice? thanks guys Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am going to load it up with 80lb and use it for jigging/trolling/live baiting and popping. As for overkill on jewies and kingies, its on the heavy side but certainly not overkill. When your targeting jewies and kingies your after the big one, so why not be prepared for one I also put a salina rod on layby to, much heavier than the monster mesh, hopefully it was a good buy.
