daiwa saltist and monster mesh max rod

hey guys just put a new daiwa saltist 6500H and a monster mesh rod on lay buy .

im looking at chasing jewies and kingies out of the boat..

im looking to spool it with 50lb braid ..just wondering if it might be abit of overkill for jewies and kingys or if it is a good choice?

Just put the exact combo on layby lol.

I got the saltist 6500H with a Monster mesh PE8.

I am going to load it up with 80lb and use it for jigging/trolling/live baiting and popping.

As for overkill on jewies and kingies, its on the heavy side but certainly not overkill. When your targeting jewies and kingies your after the big one, so why not be prepared for one

I also put a salina rod on layby to, much heavier than the monster mesh, hopefully it was a good buy.

thanks mate just i wasnt really 100% sure but cant wait

i want to one day learn how to jig and stuff aswell so yeah it will definately be a combo that will suit me for years to come..
