petdos
Hi to all,im going to change my trailer rollers from black to red for glass, also to stop the black marks on my boat ,do you have to take the boat off the trailer or can it be done one at as time on the trailer or if i have to take it off do you just take measurement before undooing and then putting them back in the same place or is there a rule of thumb to use, thanks for pete. Yarraone
If your adjusters aren't rusted solid just loosen then and lower them to take off the roller..Other wise you may have to remove your boat to get access to them , but this can be quite a handful.. Your other option is this.....with a piece of solid wood, fairly large with maybe some carpet on it.. Use a jack..I use a trolley jack.. to jack the boat off the roller you are going to replace.. Sometimes you can find just the right place that will lift your boat off a few more than 1 roller at a time.. In this case you can brace the boat up off the rollers with some covered wood between the boat and the trailer frame.. I have a 4.8m fibreglass boat and have done this a few times when I have been working on the rollers and replacing cross members on the trailer.. I hope this helps..
