clemsy
Hi raiders, I'm looking to upgrade my Shimano Sienna 2500FD reel, I would prefer the Shimano brand as their service centre is close by, I have a budget of $100, $150 if I must. I've heard good things about the Shimano Symetre but I've already gotten used to the light weight of the Sienna and not sure if the Symetre would be heavier? I've also seen the Shimano Aernos 2500FA, which is as light as the Sienna, how is the Aernos? Thanks! Oh and PS. This reel will be matched up to a Shimano Catana 7' (1 piece) SP rod. Guest Finno
The Symetre is about 20grams heavier than the sienna, i have never used the Symetre but have heard good report of the Saros and i think that retails for around $150 so another good reel for around your budget. I would suggest have a search on the internet, and if i were u i would save another $50 and buy a Stradic fi.
clemsy
I think it's a toss between the symetre and the saros, I found the stradic (not ci4) but they dont have 2500 models. Actually would either reels be too heavy for SP? Edited September 18, 2011 by clemzii
