Sven Graham
Hi all, In a couple of weeks am heading to a place called Pumpkin Island which is part of the Great Keppel group just off Rockhampton/Yeppoon. The island has lagoon, ocean and mainland facing rock/reef ledges and some terrific mangroves. People I know who have been there swent snorkling and saw large fish all round specially in the mangroves. Any advice on prospective species, tackle, etc....any help appreciated Looking forward to wetting my line after a long winter working on the house...thanks guys! jimnicdusty
i would be throwing a few big poppers around the rock and reef ledges to see if there are any GTs around. but you will need some fairly hefty gear to tangle with GTs off the rocks. jim
Sven Graham
Thanks for that, does anyone know if you get mangrove jack on islands...in the mangroves obviously....but all the same the mangrove system on an island is quite small
