reeseman
Hey raiders, Just need some advice, has anyone had any experience with south pacific fly gear, i have recently received a SP fly reel, and am currently looking at a Sp fly rod. I just wanted to know what people think of this brand. Regards Reeseman
kurtisjohnthomas
I know their reels are really good, I'm not really sure about their rods. Just depends what your going to use it for an what your experience is. You can never go wrong with a Sage rod

Just depends what your going to use it for an what your experience is. You can never go wrong with a Sage rod I have heard a great deal about sage. I love the fishing dvd series and often have noticed Peter Morse mention a fair bit about sage gear. Ages ago I bought a Gillies fly fishing beginner kit and have been hooked ever since. I was on online shop the other day and bought a south pacific fly reel all aluminium wasnt a bad price. And am now thinking of either a Latitude Dragon IM6 Graphite 8' #5/6 Fly Fishing Rod or a South Pacific 6# SR690-4. Dont know much about either but the price is really good. luderick -angler
Reeseman, I woukd either look at one of thse 3 Temple Fork Outfitters - Lefty Creh Pro, Scott A3 (should e going dirt cheap as the A4 has superceded them) or A Sage Vantage, all thes erods have a lifetime warranty unconditional and are priced at $320 or less do yourself a favour and get a decent rod the warranty is there if you damage it and you won't regret it trust me I wish I had gotten one of those 3 as my first rod! Would have saved me a lot!
cc118
I agree with luderick -angler, try find a rod maker that offers life-time warranty. Breaking a rod tip is inevitable. Regards Caddis
