outdoordan
I've heard of some good mulloway taken from stockton. My Girlfriends Grandfather used to quite often get good fish up there (50lbs+)He used to fish the southern end. But this was many moons ago. In my opinion though, Its a bit early for them to be on the beaches in any great numbers. This only means you will have to fish a little harder for them as mulloway have a habit of turning up when they are not supposed to. I would take another rod if i were you and if you come across a tailor or two I would be sending him back with a bit of jewellery (snelled 10/0's) and stickin the rod in a good holder and keep fishing for sambo's. Ditto with the sharks. I normally start hooking them from till feb-june. I have seen big sharks landed from the gutters that form around the Sygna. This was a few years ago in march or april if i remember. They were targeting them though. Wire traces and live salmon under balloons. I'm quite sure thats a big no no now though. Anyways, Good luck and keep us posted.
