PRED-ATOR
hey raiders hit the hawkesbury last night, and ran into the biggest storm, so much lightning it was crazy. First stop was to west head for some hard yakka. managed 8, my mate only managed 1 becuase hes weak . The water was fairly calm and no boats to be seen, and my god was it dark, i could pretty much only see when the lightning struck lol but thankfully with the aid of the gps/chartplotter it made life a bit easier. Fished a couple of well known jewie spots including Juno point with living on the bottom and on the balloon...Nothing, buy you wouldnt believe how many big fish were showing up on the sounder, i have never seen such concentration of fish anywhere in the hawkesbury. We moved on, work the bridge pylons with SP's, no good. Moved toward bar point bouncing SP's and still no good : ( i didnt have much trouble finding fish (whatever they were) but couldnt get a hit. anyway by this time was getting pretty late so we decided to pack it in, plus it wouldnt stop raining. as soon as we put the boat on the trailer rain stopped lol, so we just fished off the wharf. Managed 3 flatties a couple of bream and some catfish oh and this crazy looking eel. No pics because it was a pretty lame effort, Anyway enjoy the read, till next time Stan. Also thanks to DTROJAN/Pete and The one that got away/Zac for responding to my post and Zac sorry mate read your post last night : (

Also thanks to DTROJAN/Pete and The one that got away/Zac for responding to my post and Zac sorry mate read your post last night : ( Re fish sounding at juno, I fished it early morning a couple of weeks back, had a couple of livies out (one on the bottom and one free swimming) got no hits on them but was also working plastics and vibes and was picking up heaps of small bream (around 20cm) and trevally... nothing worth keeping. Ended up heading outside and ran a few good flatties drift. I'm still to unlock the mystery of the hawkesburry Jew fish have landed a few soapies in my time but none of the big ones. iMick
Hey mate, those schools of fish were probably Hairys, we found a big school today, and I got one on a lure. A couple of other guys did too. Mick
tasksta
hey mate that school was salmon. We spent all afternoon yesterday chasing them from Juno point back to almost brooklyn! Was a few boats in the hunt, all that could be heard was grown men giggling like school kids. Kept 4 big ones and left when our arms were sore and storm was rolling in. One of the best sessions i have ever had, will get some pics up. cheers Paul
slam354
I think you blokes should target the jews with soft plastics as Greg L has no trouble getting stuck into them.Everytime he gets out he is onto them.I have even been out with a guide and have not nailed a decent Jew yet but I dont have a boat. Cheers Steve Theres an art to it!!Those blokes have spent many hours fishing on the water and have the best setups in order to target the jewies, they can basically see them on there sounder, before they cast on top of them, they know exactly how to catch them. PRED-ATOR
I was using SP's and baits and had no luck. I dont think i have the magic touch lol the way the fish showing on the sounder, may have been hairtale i didnt think about that. But also the way they looked was also like schooling trevally. I didnt have the underwater cam on me so i couldnt see them. Might hit it up again this weekend if weather permits. Thanks for the comments guys
