Onajewagain
Headed down to Narrabeen today to go for some blackies. About 30 seconds after hitting the water, first blacky landed!!! Woo hoo!! A first blackie, which makes it a PB! About 20 cms long so back he went. Rigged up again and nothing for a good 2 hours. The wind blew up a bit and the wife and kids turned up, so a bite to eat and a break was in order. After lunch I thought another crack was in order. With the wind blowing I decided to head to the ramp near the caravan park. Not very hopeful I cast out and downs came fast. All was landed were little specimen, 15cm and under, but still happy with this considering they were amongst the first I've ever caught. Thinking about calling it quits, I decided to have another throw. Got a small down so I gave a gentle lift, and it gave me a smashing back!!! Several guesses at what it was from me and a mate, from flatty, to jewie, to big tailor, and then to our shock, an Aussie Salmon!!!! Another first for the day!! Guessing as we had no measuring implements, about 60 cms and 2 to 2.5 kgs Not sure if it took my peeled half prawn, or took the fish that took my peeled half prawn, but I'm not about to split hairs. But I will say, he had pestered someone before, as I took a set of gang hooks out of his guts. Hungry little bugger. Caught on 4lb mono and a no.8 snell hook!!! So two first Evers, which I can claim as two PB's and an entry into the new (I've just created it) BY- catch of the month competition!!! I've got some pics, but don't know how to put them up. I'll work it out tonight and see if I can get them on. Cheers!

Onajewagain
Thanks Squidin. The hardest thing to believe is that the lagoon is closed off from the ocean at the moment. Apparently has been for a while too. So the little bugger must have been in there for a time. I'm told by a couple of regs I met down there that it's been dead silent there, so I was really stoked with what I got today.
