TOO Fast TOO Small

Hi Raiders -

Did a late solo trip to Botany.. hit the water at about 10am and quickly loaded up on the squid which were all very small in size.

Anyway, started downrigging all the usual locations and found plenty of kings... all rats! :ranting2:

Even though they were all small it was still good fun and pulled so many over the side of the boat i lost count.. only 1 keeper!

These were my first kings of the season

With my last live squid this PJ hit the downrigger... I have caught plenty of PJs with bottom baits but a first for me on a DR! (thought the stupid PJ was a jew or something when it first hit!)

Went to find some flatties at the flats but all undersize !

All up .. good day on the water catching plenty of fish but came home with very little as everything was so bloodly small!

Headed home a broken man....

That's great news. Thanks for the report. So you didn't anchor up today?

Nice touch with the scenic shot. It helps to paint the picture. :)

Hey Formosan - did you head out yesterday ? Was looking out for your boat but did not see you.. i'll be out again next week so might bump into you then

Spent late morning squiding at 4 locations and then hit the oil wharf , the drums and a few markers for most of the kings.. did a few passes at mollinuex point for only a single king.. (surprisingly there was only 3 or 4 boat there)

Did you manage an keepers yesterday ? I found it very hard work compared to the previous weeks...

Nice pics! Looks like a great day on the bay... I've seen lots of cuttlefish feathers on the beach today, a good sign that the kingies are on the inshore reefs;-)

Cheers,

Andrew

Plenty of kings .. just to damn small! Hope they feast up on the cuttlefish so the can grown up quickly! biggrin2.gif

Cheers

my day was pretty shame i managed 1 yakka lol i started off DR'ing mol point around 12-1pm i than headed over to the oil wharf around upsteam of the ship i drifted there for nothing than headed over to the front of the ship for nothing went over and tucked behind mol point plenty bites from bait fish nothing to serious around though while finding yakkas on the bottom something reefed me possibly a large yakka i sent the only yakka down at mol point for nothing the yakka was going off though after 30mins i gave up i dont have a bridle needle so the yakka was pinned thru the back and sent down on a bottom bashing rig

also while i was getting the boat ready a bloke came up to me and mentioned i arrived at the right time sun was shinning he said they copped it all morning from the rain this may have put the fish off the bite
