Hey,just got back from Cairns,went to Fitzroy Is. for a couple of days,but didnt have any fishing gear.Spotted a bloke fishing,turned out to be Dusky_Chaser from Vic. Hopefully he,ll send a post.Did manage to catch a couple of Herring by hand when something chased the school up onto the beach.Now I really missed having a rod.Back in Cairns,the fishing trip I had planned didnt really happen ,but ended up having a great Mudcrabing trip.Failed again trying to send photos.

So I'm standing there minding my own business and this guy comes up to me and says, "hey mate can I hire your rod off you"......haha I didnt care if I forgot jocks or socks but I sure made sure I didnt forget a rod when on an island off the coast of Cairns.

Was nice to meet you swano....I'm back in Vic now...ended up with a few more fish, nothing huge because when ever I hooked a decent fish it just took me onto the reef and cut me off.....really needed a boat up there,,,would of been awesome.

The best fish I landed was a small GT (i think) on a roosta popper. I never got a photo of it but it was about 55cm or so.

Got a heap of other reef fish including 7 coral trout but they werent huge.

Caught a smaller one too which I did get a photo of.

Can anyone tell me if its a Juvenile GT or something else?

(ok given up trying to put the pic up, says I cant use that image extension?????? I am using photobucket???? always worked before)
