Robofish Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Raiders, I have got tomorrow off and am taking my boat out into the Broken Bay area. I would really like to pick up some sharks (I have wanted to target them for a while but have been too tied up with other species) - can anyone help with locations, baits, burley approach etc? Thanks Dave
brettmann86 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Hi dave, this is a little late but thought I'd pitch in anyway, Ok in broken bay try around patonga or lion island, a 8/0 or larger hook rigged to some multi strand wire of your choosing should see you in on the action, fish big vats and lots of burley, burley trail has to be unbroken, way I do it is a keeper bag with roughly cut up fig frames just hanging over the back and every now and again a handful of chunkier berley over the side as well, upside to this is while your ishing your big bait under a balloon, sink an unweighted bait down the berley trail you'll be surprised what else shows up... Remember too any shark over say 1.8m isn't that great to eat.. Smaller the better and they are alot easier to handle... If you'd like when the water warms a bit more I'd be more that happy to show you a few things on my boat..
Robofish Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Hi Brettman, thanks for the reply mate I will give it a go when Im out next weekend. Is time of day important - low light conditions? And I would love to take you up on the offer of showing me the ropes on your boat when its warmer. Thanks Dave
