Prawning and Puffer Fish

We to The Entrance on the weekend with a mate and our 2, 4 year old kids. Kids caught a few fish and they were both happy. After dinner we decided to go prawning, so we went out to the Jetty and had caught a few prawns (not the prawning season just yet) when my mate scooped up a puffer fish (thinking it was something else). The Puffer fish started to expand and he was unable to let it out of the prawn net in time. Luckiy a local has some gloves and removed the blown up puffer from his net for us. It was now bigger than a basketball. Anyway after all that excitement it was time to go as the kids had had enough after a long day at the beach and fishing. Wish we could have stayed longer as we would have caught enough prans for a sandwich or two.

It was the funniest fishing experience I have had in a while. I can still hear the puffer fish gas bagging as it floated away downstream, quite angry.
