Hi there,

A newbie here.

We love fishing whenever we can but sometimes we're just unlucky with no bites at all.

We usually fish up at Brooklyn past North Sydney and Hawkesbury River in Windsor and it's practically the only fishing spots we know.

Wondering if anyone could suggest some good fishing spots around the Hawkesbury in the Nepean District and or around South East Sydney?

Not on boat, just on land ( off the rocks, jetty or banks).

Baits I usually use are the ones from the servo (squid, prawns, and beach worms), if you have a few others to suggest don't hesitate.

Much help and input will be greatly appreciated.

Under the road bridge at Brooklyn if seen and caught myself quite a lot of flathead and fair numbers of jewfish just from the rocks opposite the mooney mooney boat ramp . You can get here by taking the first exit on the left when crossing the bridge from gosford side . And there's a little deadend to park your car and walk around the bend untill you find a spot your happy to fish , it's a safe spot ..

You will loose a lot of tackle here though if you can pick the right tides of get far enough out ,

But give it a go if you would like , and you must make a berley mix to take without , the tide can rip through here so try fish smaller tides and at the end of tides and fish the turn of tide for best rests

Hope this helps mate ,

get a yabby pump and go to mainbar or bundeena pumping yabbys is as much fun as catching fish you have to be there at low tide when you have your yabbys you can fish on the beach or around the sand flats as the tide comes in fish were you were pumping keep a few and fish the saltwater side off audly weir these are all safe places to fish and kid frendly and if you have live yabbys you will catch fish eg whiting flattys and bream well worth the drive and a good spots for a picknick

Awesome. Will be going there this weekend. Have been fishing off that exact same spot near the bend that you've just mentioned, but haven't fished under that bridge, though, so will definitely give that a try. Thank you

Yeah I find that they also fall off the hook easily when frozen and mushy. I'll get some freshies and let you know how it goes lol

Thanks
