bunney10 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Hello fish raiders Just got back from a fantastic fishing weekemd with fellow Central Coast Fly rodders fishing TCD and the local rivers Arrived mid afternoon at TCD to try and get the evening rise and managed a nice 35-40 cm fish in the margins on a red holgraphic diawl bach nymph, after a great fight and some arial acrobatics i managed to net him, take a quick photo for the memories and back he went to fight another day, the fish was in excellent condition, fin perfect and nice and chunky. Bang on 7pm the evening rise started but the fish were not in a massive feeding state as they were very selective and just sipping the odd black gnat off the surface, by 7.30 all was over. Saturday i was taken to nice spot on the fish river with 2 mates, on the drive in we could see fish rising all over every pool, we couldn't tackle up quick enough, the first run we came to had fish rising so after 3 casts i had a cracking little "bow" on the bank, i love catching these feisty little rainbows, then the rain came down steadily for the next 2 hours which put paid to any more excitment, eventually though persistance paid off as i managed another 6 fish in the next stretch of river the best going 45cm's and a cracking brown it was too, big and fat and a great fight on a 4 weight. Travelled back up to Tommos to fish the afternoon with the rest of the guys from the club but didn'tmange to touch a single fish between the lot of us, the "pond" on the left just before the dam was fishing well with plenty of fish rising consistantly ( in hindsight we should have stayed there.... oh well you live and learn Sunday we hit a diferent stretch of the fish river and this fished so differently from the day before, same weather conditions vbut hardly a single rise, but still managed a nice fat browny on a tiny dry All in all it was a great time on the water and can't wait to get back there again soon PS There were plenty of brown and black snakes on the water so be careful

Centrepin Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Thanks for the report. Good to see Fish are around in the fish River. Appreciated, Geoff
irongustavius Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Thanks for the report. Nice to see the Central West fishing well, hopefully the snakes will keep the angling pressure down and the dedicated ones will continue to come across those lovely big browns and bows.
