martoiscool Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Hey stu, If I'm havin a good day and gettin a heap of just over legal I return anything over 55cm. If I'm struggling to get a feed I might keep one over 55 but nothing bigger than 65... Ever. I never take more than 4 fish home anyway as my misses doesn't like fish that much.. Plus I think once they get to big they don't taste as good. The smaller just legal ones seem to be the sweetest!!

LBG. Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 40-60cm are the best on the tooth, and get the best fillets. I release anything I don't need. If I had visitors and caught 2 over 70, I'd keep them. I'm allowed to, and stocks are healthy (healtiest they've ever been IMO!) so why not.
Hodgey Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Anything over 60cm i release... +1. Only keep them between 45cm and 60cm. The three today were 55, 56 and 58.
gummybusta Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 +1. Only keep them between 45cm and 60cm. The three today were 55, 56 and 58. +2 yeh like most my slot size limmit is 40cm-60cm on most days if fishing is a bit tough i will keep them at leagle size but that doesn't happine that much may keep one at 65cm but anything over that gets a bit big to fillet alot of meat on a 55cm flattie
bump73 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I'll release any over about the 60 cm mark, and one thing that really pisses me off is the bag limit of 20 for flatties. I mean seriously 20 fish, how long are they going to sit in the freezer before they are eaten, it just ridiculous in my opinion it should be more more like 5 definately no more than 10. Ben
finin Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Dont care how big they are. From the amount of flatties ive gutted, its a myth that all the big ones are females. Although i wont take nothing under 40cm.
