luderick -angler Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Location: North Bondi Pool and the Boat Ramp (The Skids) A couple of good spots to fish early morning late afternoon on the high water for a mixed bag best in a NE swell up to 1.5 metres the pool is best fished from the back of the pool itself and into the back of the breakers onto the sand, be aware it can be deadly in any south swell so STAY AWAY in any southerly swell over 0.5 metre. The Skids primarily a late arvo blackfish spot on a run up fish the small bay where the boats are below the last block of flats on the north end of Bondi a long cast may also pick up the odd snapper after a big southerly has settled and the area is safe to fish again, avoid in a southerly swell and rising tide. BEST TIME AND CONDITIONS NE swells to 1.5 metres and a rising tide but if the swell is picking up get out early mornings and late afternoon to avoid swimmers etc AVOID THESE SPOTS IN A RISING SWELL FROM THE SOUTH OR NE SWELLS OVER 1.5 METRES AND RISING Access is easy and safe and you are close to public transport and the Nth Bondi Surf club in the event of an accident. CLEATS ARE A MUST AROUND HERE AND PFD IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED AS IS FISHING WITH A MATE AND TAKING A LIFELINE CHECK WEATHER AND HEED WARNINGS!!!! AS WITH ALL SPOTS WATCH THE WATER FOR 15 MINS BEFORE FISHING AND IF HIGH ROCKS WELL AWAY FROM THE WATER LOOK UNUSUALLY WET BE AWARE THERES A FEW BIG SETS ABOUT. REMEMBER IF SOMEONE GOES IN DON'T GO AFTER THEM, RAISE THE ALARM THROW A FLOATATION AID AND KEEP AN EYE ON THEM IF THE DO GET OUT GET THEM TO SAFE GROUND AND APPLY FIRST AID - SAFE ROCKHOPPING
