First Flathead on SP

Headed to Hermit Bay this morning, the fishing is never really any good but its quiet. Very nice day, no wind

I could see heaps of leather jackets but i wasnt really interested in catching them since they don't put much of a fight.

Anyway threw some pumpkinseed SP's around, hooked onto a nice flounder but it got off.

Next cast and my very first fish on any lure!

A nice just legal flatty and my first in ages!

It's exciting getting that first fish on a lure.. mine was a pinky snapper about 15cms on a pumpkin seed worm.

Good work mate. Flatties love a plastic im sure you will get many more now!

Congrats mate, well done! It took me 6 months of solid SP fishing until I got my first hookup (but I'm obviously not a very talented fisho!)

I can't resist and i'll probably head to rose bay tomorrow to cast some lures around...and this time, for the first time...i wont bring bait!!!

Have not used bait in over 6 months. Just been using plastics and converted all my mates. A 9gm jigg head with 80cm fish in the drop bear has done plenty of damage for me down at windang.
