Botany Bay or Harbour

G'day Raiders,

I have been fishing the bay for the last three years with not a great deal of luck. This summer I am keen to hit the Harbour...But Parking puts me off. Should I persist or try for better hunting grounds. Raiders, which is better Sydney Harbour or Botany Bay. I am determined to bag my first Kingie this year!!!

I prefer the Harbour for fishing but still sway towards B.Bay due lack of decent boat ramps close to the harbour. The good ramps dont have enough parking or are miles up the river, once you get on the Harbour its a very busy waterway and can be a bit worrying to navigate and always more choppy then B.Bay once you start heading toward the heads (&better fishing grounds). At the end of the day theres a good chance of more fish but not very relaxing. On the other hand if its windy there is more shelter in the Harbour.

It's botany all the way for me!

The harbor as stated in the other post is way too busy for my liking... Plus the lack of parking is also a turn off.

There is plenty of quality squid and fish etc in botany.... you just need to spend some time researching in and out of the water to find spots and techniques that work.

In saying this the harbor has some very nice markers that hold quality kings

Mate, I love to fish the harbour, never usually have as much luck around botany.

I recommend trying to launch at tunks park, if you get their early enough there are no troubles finding a decent park.

paddy69 how are u targeting kings? if u try around the end of the year at mol point the kings will be on heres the kings last year taking anything we could throw at them this video was 15th of december we landed a few before the video was takin they were 60cm models
