Time Bandit Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Hi Raiders, I have been fishing Botany Bay down to Capt Cook Bridge with an eye further upstream. I live at Campbelltown so it would be an easier trip to put the boat in at around Sandy Point? A few things concern me. (1) Car/trailer security, (2) What type of fish are up there & (3) Hazards? I would appreciate it if anyone can assist with further info. Cheers
Guest hawkesbass Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Sandy point boat ramp from memory is only small and does not have much parking if any as it is a residential street as for the fishing you will catch your usual species in whiting, bream, flathead and jews around structure of the bridges and along the sand flats that are around maybe a better option for launching the boat is at georges river national park it costs money to get in and gates shut at certain hours but it is better for security for the car/trailer

Pongrass18ft Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Across from sandy point is a boat shed can use his ramp cost u 5 dollars has parking and there is no time it closes so u can stay out as long as u want Mate that ramp is picnic point boat shed and is a great ramp to launch at ...........JUST be careful as it is a very short ramp and your trailer will drop over the slab edge especially on low tide and you can run into dramas or damage to the trailer. At night there is adequate lighting at the ramp also and you can catch your livies from around the light using berley too chris.
