Hi Raiders,

I just came back from Shimano at Taren Point, extremely pleased with their service. Over the weekend I noticed that my 5 year old Symetre 1500 had a crack in the bail arm near the line guide,(I probably used it too much :biggrin2: and it has cracked from the repeated use) I live and work at Cronulla so I drove over at lunch time and the boys there fixed it on the spot for free. They replaced the cracked bail arm on my 5yo Symetre and when I asked what the damaged was, the fellow said, I owed them nothing, it was free. How good is that. Big plus for Shimano.

Wow, that is impressive. I didnt even realise they did servicing and the like down there. Good to hear feedback, goes along way in my decisions on where my money goes.

They're actually not bad. Whilst i didn't need any servicing or repairs, i was questioning the drag ratings on some reels i bought in Japan. They said to take it down to Taren Point and have it tested. So they were testing out my reels and happily showed me how to how to achieve those published figures. Hearing from others they won't service reels bought from overseas so i wasn't hoping for much. But i was surprised they were willing to help

They did a great service job on my Charter Special a while ago. Runs like a dream now.

Actually you've reminded me to head down there soon because I have to see if I can get a gear for my old Aernos 6000 which is still lying in pieces. Thanks for jogging my memory.

Cheers

pity i have bought diawa sol 2500 and 3000, heatland 3000 and tierra 2500. completely happy with the reels but absolutely useless for service and its a long way for me from campbelltown to brookvale to drop them in for a 2 month long service :thumbdown:

next reels will be shimano definitely as i hear nothing but good things about there service

just my 2c

Heaps better for Diawa, they wanted $120 for a replacement procaster tip, when the rod was two years old. The fluger rods are better and cheaper than just the tip of the procaster!
