GME or LOWRANCE

Hey guys im in need of a new fish finder as the one i had is dead after some dodgy wiring from previous owner..thought i would take it to get all checked out for peace of mind and glad i did because was told my boat was a fire hazard but thats another story....ANYWAYS im torn between the LOWRANCE ELITE 5 COMBO or the new GME G SERIES COMBO which comes with better detail map...if anyone has either of these i would love to hear some feedback on them....cheers

I have used the lowrance elite 5. they are a really awesome unit. how many of meter of water are you fishing in? you might want to consider the DSI. they are a pretty good unit too. they also have the GPS combo as well.

i will be fishing in anywhere from 2m to 60m....i have looked at a few of them the dsi combo is couple hundred extra dollars and the sonar scan only does directly below ur boat i think
