dacosta74
Hit Sydney harbour again yesterday. Lots of fog around, wind picked up in the afternoon. Found the fishing really quiet again. Tried the wedding cakes but nothing happened. Fish in and around the boats of Rose Bay. One nice whiting on soft plastic, which was unexpected, I thought they went on worms. Other lad on the boat got a great trevali fishing with pilchard strip. And still no kingfish!! It's driving me nuts!

Have never had the fog hang around for that long on the Harbour, was weird eh.
lostproperty
Where'd u land the kings n what time ? We managed 4, only 1 undersized, just inside north head on yakkas between 11;30 and 1pm, last one fell victim to my octojig which I was winding in very very slowly as we were packing up to head home after cleaning all our fish so was pretty happy with that ! knuckle
Dom, was a tough day on Sat mate, we were going to go to longy but the fog held us back was a weird eerie day with all that fog. we were inside Nth head with everyone else in the morning downrigging live yakkas but nothing at all this week which is a shame cause we got some really nice fish there last week. but have heard that a few people got them at nth head a bit later after we left. We went for a look up the harbour and middle head, found a few salmon bonito and tailor around garden island which are always fun on bream gear. Thought there might be some kings mixed in for some switch baiting but could not raise any. Bald one. good effort mate perhaps we should have stayed a bit longer at Nth head what boat are you in? will give a shout out next time if i see you. Massive effort on the squid to mate thats awesome, pm me any tips you have for squid in the harbour will as i really struggle, funny thing is i can get a few land based but struggle in the boat. Cheers Knuckle

Cheers Knuckle Hey Knuckle Tip ?? work hard, thats the only tip i have. We were on the water at 5, and didnt drop a bait till 30 mins or so after the change of tide. IE The bite improves with a moving tide. the slack tide is shit unless your after a jew. Baldy
Piss'n'Broke
We were in that carpark at North Head along with everyone else that canned trips out wide when that fog and NE blew up. We ended up with 9 rats, 1 barely legal at 67cm, and lost 2 very very good fish! Still a good day out especially when you have a school of kings sitting less than 3metres under your boat free-spooling squid into them. lostproperty
Knuckle We stopped at the carpark for a few mins but headed out into the fog, we only managed and undersized pinky and a sweep, just as many boats out off longy as well and not alot happening, lost our anchor so decided to drift off longreef wide nothing except a massive pike, nothing wide off deewhy either so headed back in and that's when we had some rewards for roughing it all morning, wind was terrible out wide and we used our last 3 live yakkas in off nth head, plenty of trevalley fell victim to yakka strips as well. I had a snapper snatcher on the bottom when my mates livie got smashed by the first kingy we pulled in, needless to say snapper snatcher came up quickly and swapped over to a 7/0 and landed my first kingy !
