I have a Quintrex 530 top ender, side console, and I'm looking at installing it with outriggers so I can increase my spread of lures while trawling, the issue I have is choosing a location for the outriggers, my option will be either front or back of the boat, can anyone give me advice on best positioning ? The outrigger I'm looking at is 14ft,

I don't mind putting it up the very front, but worried about bouncing.

On the back might seem like an option but being an open boat it breaks up the fishing area, and will make it difficult to pull a large fish to the side of the boat.

Please help

G'day mate

A mate and I fitted reelax outriggers to his quinny 530 spirit. We mounted them just back from the cabin and so far have worked a treat. Will be over there Sunday so will get some pics if you're keen? Just pm me your email. We were advised by a mate against mounting them too far forward as in a sloppy sea they can bounce around too much.

What sort of bases did you get? The reelax bases are great! Also under the base we have mounted the thickest, biggest piece of plastic kitchen cutting board we could fit to help distribute the weight into the gunnels better. We were guna use plate aluminum but were advised against it as the cutting board flexes with the gunnel better so as not to cause metal fatigue at the edge of the plate.

G'day guys will send the photos through in about an hour...left my camera at his house...yeah I'm dumb haha. I took photos of the rigging as well. We paid a bullshit amount for the rigging to be done and chopped and changed them to suit our needs a bit better.
