L1M
Hey! i was thinking of getting the old man a new fishing reel for his Christmas present. His current reels are a bit old and lately noticed him nagging on how he has had problems with them. im going to get him a reel that is suitable for surf fishing and fishing off breakwalls. Also maybe something in the $50-$100 price range Any ideas fishraiders on which reels?

stylo
what rod are ya matching it up with ? if you are looking for surf / bait gear i.e. look at the penn liveliners, slammer, spinfishers in matching size. tough as nails, he won't break them, but they are heavy. if spinning / luring gear and you are matching it up with graphite rods, get the lightweight gear like those mentioned above i.e. symetre, saros, sedona, penn applause etc. Edited November 25, 2011 by stylo
