outdoordan
I'm in the market for a mid sized spinning reel aimed at casting large plastics and hardbodies around surf gutters and the occasional breakwall. It will be accompanying a 10'6 Staro Classic and I'll run 30lb through it. My ears %%%%%ed when i saw the biomaster. Relatively light, low ratio, reasonable drag, alloy rotor with hybrid body, at a reasonable price. I was originally considering a Stella 8000PG. But i am apprehensive about taking such an expensive reel to an enviroment like the beach. Has anyone used/own a Biomaster 8000PG? I realise they are relatively new to the market but if anyone had put them through thier paces it would be a fishraider. I am also open to other reel suggestions i may have overlooked. tentonner
I had a play with a 4000 size a while ago and compared it at the same time to a stella, for almost half the price I would never get a stella over one of these, obviously can't say much about durability etc at this stage but to me it felt like a pretty sweet reel, better than a certate too i reckon. And a pretty good price compared to a certate and a stella

AndrewNR
I got a ton of freqent flyers points for just that occassion... Got a Stella 4000fe and a 4000 biomaster. Have pulled them both apart for my own tlc and they are very similar believe it or not a few bits extra in the Stella but I think they perform the same to me almost. Stella handles spins under it's own weight. That's the only difference that I note.
